In June of 2020, the 10 – 12 programming at Ryley School was discontinued. Holden School was closed and the students moved to the newly created K – 9 school in Ryley.
In the fall of 2020, the Village of Ryley spearheaded an initiative to bring back a local high school. A group of parents and community members, from the Ryley and Holden area researched the possible options, and decided to apply to open a charter school for grades 7 – 12 in Holden.
The preliminary application was submitted to the Minister of Education on May 10, 2021. Approval was granted July 12, 2022. Doors opened to students 8 weeks later, on September 5, 2022.
